I grew up in Houston. I received a BFA from the University of Houston, specializing in Advertising Art, Layout and Design. After marrying my husband, Steve, an Episcopal priest, who was assigned as chaplain at Stephen F. Austin University, in East Texas, I worked for this small town newspaper in client sales and advertising layout and design. Moving back to Houston, my husband and I raised three children, Nathan, Aaron and Jessica. I became a full time mother working with various community volunteer organizations as well as church activities and the diocesan summer camping program.

We moved to Detroit in 1995 when Steve accepted the position as Dean of the Cathedral of St. Paul. After a short time in real estate, I took a job with the Jonna Companies where I worked as Risk Manager for the construction company. In between working and raising children, I have done a number of things in the community as volunteer; organizing the Memorial Day parade and carnival for three years in Beverly Hills, Michigan, and most recently co-chair of the 2017 and 2018 Franklin Garden Tour as a member of the Franklin Garden Club. While in Michigan I have done layout and design on a free-lance basis for various clients. My interests are decorating, gardening and any kind of outdoor activity, especially hiking and bicycling. Joining Christ Church seven years ago, I have enjoyed singing in the choir, arrangeing flowers with Flower Guild, Altar Guild, and various other

Length of membership at CCC: 23 years
Previous Experience in Parish Leadership: Vestry [‘99-02, ‘07-’10 (Senior Warden ‘09-’10)]; Treasurer (‘10-’14); Service & Outreach Chair (‘92-’99); Finance Chair (‘01-’07); Artworks Chair (‘14- ).I have a love of CCC – both the church and community – that has only deepened over the 22 years that I have held leadership positions in this parish under four Rectors and through three (occasionally stressful) transitions. Christ Church Cranbrook has become both a warm home and a transformative spiritual experience for me and for my family. My chief goal if I am called again to serve on the Vestry is to help CCC serve those roles for as many other people as possible. I think that the next three years will be important, with an exciting new Rector, opportunities to make a real difference in our community, the Diocese, and the world, and the need to reinvigorate our parish and its leadership as we strive to fulfill our mission.

I would bring to the Vestry a perspective shaped by years of deep experience in leadership and CCC finances and by direct involvement with important ministries in outreach, youth, and music. I believe that I would help keep the Vestry collegial, dynamic, and effective partners with the Rector to reach our common goals.

Economist/Strategist at General Motors. In addition to Parish Leadership listed below: Choir (‘10 – ); Youth leader on Dominican Republic Youth Mission trip and at CCC (‘14- ); Diocesan Trustee (‘13 – ); various service projects including SOS volunteer since ‘92 and Mississippi mission trip (‘07).
