South Oakland Shelter Week
Another week of hosting the South Oakland Shelter program is arriving soon, in the second week of Easter, in fact. Full of joy and confidence in the risen Lord Jesus, we will drive, cook for, watch over and pray for our guests. Many hands and hearts are needed, and sign-up posters are in the Guild Hall throughout Lent. We are in especial need just now of the loan of at least one van which could hold around nine persons. We would like to borrow it for a week, and will return it brimful of gas and washed.
Transportation of large groups at one time is essential to the success of our program. Generous van owners are urged to call Eric Linder, whose phone number is available on the poster in the Guild Hall. Our other need, most difficult to fill, is overnight hosts. We promise you great food, good fellowship, and actual time to sleep! Shirley Green will preside over the kitchen in the evenings, Donna Censoni in the mornings, and John Blanchard and Jim Stokas are the car and computer czars.
You can talk to or call any of these people about ways to help, or just SIGN UP! Sign up boards are located in the Guild Hall.
