We have a new “Pit Crew” at CCC!

By Chris Harris

This Christmas season we will be welcoming thousands of our neighbors to Christ Church Cranbrook – many for the very first time! To help make our visitors feel right at home, we’ve launched a new parking lot ministry called the PIT Crew (Parking Impact Team) and we’re rev’d up for you to help us get this ministry firing on all cylinders! (Yes, this ministry brings with it endless car puns!)

Why have a parking lot ministry?

First and foremost, it’s about making a friendly first impression. Christ Church Cranbrook can be an intimidating building for first-time visitors. Friendly greeters in the parking lot can go a long way to telling newcomers that we really do welcome all! On a practical level, it can also be very helpful to have someone available to direct folks to disabled parking options, guide newcomers that are not sure where to go, help folks across the busy street – especially at night – and offer umbrellas on rainy days!

What would I do?

Please use the SIGN UP GENIUS to select the time slot and date you would like to volunteer. Feel free to invite a Christ Church friend (or two) to serve alongside you. Plan to come early and meet in the Guild Hall to pick up a safety vest and receive some brief instructions. Generally speaking, you’ll only need to stay out there for no more than 15 minutes or so after the start of the service or event.

So get it in gear, sign up for our PIT Crew, and help make a huge difference this Christmas season!
