What a wonderful time this has been! While I have been at Christ Church Cranbrook for only three months as Visiting Director of Music, the people here have made a lasting impression on me. In forty years of full-time music ministry, I have never encountered a staff so dedicated to their work nor a congregation of such friendly and appreciative individuals. I have felt very welcome, and I am extremely grateful for that.
The building’s beauty, the lovingly cared-for facilities and environs, the glorious organ, and the wonderful staff make it a joy to come to work each day. I had always known of Christ Church Cranbrook but had never visited; one can only imagine my delight at discovering this place is all I had supposed – and much more. My wife and I have enjoyed poking around and walking the Cranbrook grounds, eating at local restaurants, hearing the DSO, and even taking in a Tigers game. My experience has been nothing short of enjoyable and fulfilling. It is a time I will always cherish.
I am especially thankful to Fr. Bill and Christopher Wells for inviting me to Cranbrook. Fr. Bill and I worked together in Connecticut almost thirty years ago, and it has been a joy to work together again. I have delighted in offering sacred music in the context of the liturgy with the Christ Church Choir, a group of dedicated singers devoted to their task.
And so, it is both with joy and sadness that I take my leave from Christ Church Cranbrook. Thank you for welcoming me into your midst and allowing me to exercise my ministry in this truly extraordinary community.
Thank you for your gift of music ❤️🙏🎶
We were blessed to have you — thank you for sharing your gifts!!!
