Loving God through George Herbert’s Poetry of the Incarnation
Do Cupid and God have anything in common? Are amorous darts and wounded hearts only for star-crossed lovers? Can the proverbial phrase “all is fair in love and war” apply to God? To commemorate the Feast Day of George Herbert (February 27), join us to explore the ways in which this priest and poet of the Seventeenth Century transforms secular love conventions to reimagine our relationship with a loving God, centered on Christ.
We will meet in the Hospitality Center.
