The selection for August is: “The Warmth of Other Suns” by Isabel Wilkerson
Book Description: In this beautifully written masterwork, Wilkerson chronicles one of the great untold stories of American history; the decades long migration of black citizens who fled the South for Northern/Western cities in search of a better life. Interviewing more than a thousand people, she weaves the vivid and dramatic stories of real African American journeys that unfolded from 1915 – 1970.
