We begin in darkness with a fire and candlelight to guide us as we hear the ancient stories of how God has cared for the world throughout history. Then, when the candles are about to go out, there is light!  This is a summation of our faith, the climax of the church’s year, and the first service of Easter – experience the profound joy of the Resurrection anew. Following ancient tradition, the first service of Easter is the Great Vigil offered before the sun’s rising.  The Christ Church Choir sings festive choral music ranging from the Renaissance to modern day composition to the spiritual “Go down, Moses.”
