Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Join us as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an American Baptist minister, activist and civil rights leader. John James will speak during the 9 AM Sunday Forum in the Hospitality Center.

John James speaks on what it means to be Christian and African American in this day and age. John is a graduate from Brother Rice High School and West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 and became an Army Rangers-qualified aviator. He served for eight years in the United States Army, participating in multiple tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was an Apache pilot.

Immediately following the Sunday forum, at 10 AM worship we will be joined by Rodney Whitaker Jazz Ensemble. Whitaker is a world-renowned musician and educator at Michigan State University.

The Rev. Charles Christian Adams, a powerful preacher and Presiding Pastor of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit will preach at the 10 AM service. Make plans to attend and take part in this special day.
