Please join us on Zoom on Thursday, January 20 at 6:30 PM for fun, fellowship, and refreshments to watch the movie, “Cry, the Beloved Country” (1951). In this film, Canada Lee portrays Stephen Kumalo, an Anglican priest, who travels from his impoverished homeland to find and help his relatives who have gone to the big city to seek their fortunes. His relatives include the sister who becomes a prostitute when she cannot find her husband, the successful brother who strives to throw off the yoke of the white man, the son who in the course of a robbery kills a reformer, the child of the sister, and the wife of the son. This story is based on a book by Alan Paton. Hope you join us!
