Thursday, May 18 | 6:30 PM | Multi-purpose Room (Next to the Atrium)
Our movie this month is “The Book Thief,” a 2013 film that follows the profoundly moving story of a girl named Liesel who transforms the lives of those around her during World War II Germany. Although Liesel is illiterate when she is adopted by a German couple, her adoptive father encourages her to learn to read. Ultimately, the power of words helps Liesel and Max, a Jew hiding in the family’s home, escape from the events unfolding around them.
Doors open by 6:15 PM, so you are welcome to come early to enjoy one another’s company. The usual hospitality of snacks and sips awaits you. Hope to see you there, and please invite fellow parishioners and other friends to join us!
