During his earthly ministry, Jesus offered many teachings and parables to help us follow in his lead. But sometimes Jesus spoke words that followers then and now have found difficult. For example: Hate the members of our own family? (Luke 14:26) Act as if we were slaves? (Matthew 20:27) Sell our belongings and give to the poor? (Luke 18:22) — to just name a few. Beginners welcome as we gather online on the second Monday of each month using Dr. Amy Jill-Levine’s new book as our guide to these challenging teachings.
