SUMMARY:Cultivating Presence in a Distracted World
DESCRIPTION:Sign-Up: www.ccc-info.org/presence \nChristian contemplative practices invite us to cultivate a spaciousness within our souls that awakens us to the presence and love of God in all of life. If you’re interested in deepening your prayer practice in a way that invites greater peace and presence in your life\, come along on Tuesday evenings at 7pm in the Library\, where we’ll explore and practice this way of seeing and being together. \n\n5/13 – A Moment of Awe\n5/20 – Growing Up and Waking Up \n5/27 – Suffering and Surrender\n6/3 – Practices and Prompts\n\nWe will begin each night with a short\, contemplative prayer and then offer some teaching and conversation using the book Just This by Richard Rohr. Just This is a collection of brief and evocative meditations and practices that invites us to cultivate the gift of waking up to the beauty of reality in all its glorious ordinariness.  While not required\, if you’d like to order a copy to read along\, you can purchase here: www.ccc-info.org/justthis \nThe series will be led by The Rev. Marjorie Wilhelmi\, who is certified by the Shalem Institute in Contemplative Leadership and a recent graduate of Living School for Action and Contemplation. Marjorie is drawn into contemplative practices as they help us live more fully into our Christian faith and is passionate about inviting others to join in that adventure. \nThis series is open to all\, and so if you have a friend or family member who might appreciate the opportunity to explore soulful\, contemplative practice\, please bring them along!
