Chris this Ash Wednesday\, when we step outside the church walls to meet people exactly where they are—at transit centers\, outside Starbucks\, and on the busy street corners of our community offering “Ashes to Go” to anyone interested. Be prepared to be transformed in surprising\, fun and deeply moving ways as we create sacred space for prayer and spiritual encounter in the most “unlikely” places. We work in teams so you are not alone. Interested? Email Fr. Chris at charris@christchurchcranbrook.org and then join us at the 7 AM service on Ash Wednesday for a quick commissioning and training before we head out together.

DESCRIPTION:This year\, no need to return on Tuesday to celebrate Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) and the Burning of the Palm Branches for Ash Wednesday. We will bring it to you on Sunday at 11.30am! We will burn the palms outdoors after service. It is mesmerizing. Bring your kids and smartphones. Then we feast on traditional Mardi Gras delights that make us happy! It is a wonderful preparation for Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.
