What Happens at Sunday and Saturday Worship

Our weekend worship is grounded in the Holy Scriptures – each service includes readings from Hebrew Scriptures, the Psalms, the New Testament, and the Gospels. One of our clergy or a visiting preacher offers a sermon to open up the Word for us.

Together we take time for offer prayers for ourselves and others. We reaffirm our faith in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We confess the ways we’ve sinned and failed to love others as God loves us. Finally we pray for the world, the Church, and the communities of which we are a part.

Our time of prayer ends as we exchange God’s peace with one another and prepare to gather at God’s table in the Holy Eucharist. We make our financial offerings at this time, knowing we can only give what God has already given to us.

We share in Christ’s body and blood, recalling all the God has done and continues to do for us and the whole world through Jesus Christ. Following this holy meal, we are sent out to bear God’s redeeming love to the world.
