Finding God through Fitness

I am constantly amazed how resilient, capable and strong our bodies are. What a gift from God! I often think: God made it, Jesus died for it, the Holy Spirit lives in it, I’d better take care of it! As a fitness instructor it’s my job to help others be their best self in terms of physical fitness. We feel better both physically and mentally when we use the body God gave us. Exercise gives us more energy to devote to our passions and well as greater mental clarity. It has been proven that physical health is tied to mental health. Just like our brain, the same is true for the muscles in the body, “if you don’t use it, you lose it”.


During my time in quarantine with my family, my husband Mike encouraged me to start a YouTube fitness channel.  The majority of the classes that I teach and individuals that I train are senior citizens. The exercises featured on my channel SeniorShape are designed to keep people active. The videos are free, easy to follow and are done in the comfort of your own home. I’m thrilled to share them with you. Strength, much like faith, only grows if you use it.

  1. Through Covid started incorporating exercise videos into my day and have happily continued since. Past year found your videos and want you to know how thankful I am for your sharing of your gift. As an almost 58 year old I appreciate the low-impact yet challenging routines, but am just as grateful for the spiritual blessing of your workouts. Your gentle and encouraging character shines through. Between your refreshingly modest clothing and warm personality I could tell you were a believer. Keep shining that light, Lauren! Thank you.

  2. I love your workouts, Lauren. Faith is important to me and my family as well and God gives us a gift every day we’re able to get up and move. Caring for my body has been important since I was in my early teens, but now at 62 it’s just that much more important to care of this amazing gift and keep it moving. Thank you for your workouts and the reminder that God has provided us with an amazing gift.
