Welcome

We are a welcoming and inclusive faith community transformed by God’s acceptance, love, and grace. As a church we are actively engaged in the work of justice and compassion in our community and beyond. Find out more about who we are, our vision and beliefs, our services of worship, our sermons, our programs, our opportunities for Christian education for all ages, and the many ways we serve our wider community.

Visiting a church for the first time can be a daunting experience, especially when in search of a new church home. Our hope at Christ Church Cranbrook (CCC) is for all to feel welcome and comfortable. Click any of the headings below for additional information.

For more information on how to get started, email Father Chris, or on a Sunday morning visit the Welcome Table in the Front Porch or Guild Hall. We can’t wait to meet you!

Great, because it’s important to us too. In the Baptismal Covenant of The Episcopal Church we promise to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves, and to strive for justice and peace among all people, respecting the dignity of every human being. Based on our mission and these sacred baptismal vows, Christ Church Cranbrook welcomes and affirms people of every race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age, physical and mental ability, national origin, and economic station—none of which may limit full participation in the life of our community.

We are located at 470 Church Road, Bloomfield Hills MI, a mile off of Woodward Avenue on Lone Pine Road. When you turn onto Church Road, drive past the church, and you will see a large parking lot, which you can park in. If you are in need of a shorter walk, there are handicap parallel parking spaces available directly in front of the church.

Absolutely, and we can’t wait to meet them!

For more information on bringing your little ones to church, please click here, and don’t forget to join us for Sunday School!

Youth in grades 6-12 also have the option of joining us for Middle School Sunday School or High School Hangout. Click here to learn more about these and other ways to get involved!

Whatever you’re comfortable in! People wear everything from casual t-shirts to their Sunday best, and you’ll fit right in no matter what you decide to wear.

For first time attendees, we recommend attending our 10 AM Sunday Worship. This is our main weekend service that lasts approximately an hour and 15 minutes. For our other service options, click here.

We strongly encourage arriving at least 15 minutes prior to a service (unless you have children, then plan to come earlier!), so you are settled in and have a few moments to look at our church. Upon entering our main Sanctuary entrance on Church Road, expect to be greeted by one of our ushers. They will hand you the worship bulletin (this outlines our service, including all readings, responses and hymns) stuffed with the Communicant, our weekly print newsletter. Pick a pew that makes you feel most comfortable and fill out a Welcome card found in the pew rack in front of you. You may hold onto this until after the service, or place it on the silver plates handed out during Offertory.

We celebrate the Holy Eucharist during our weekend services and ALL are welcome to participate. If you wish to refrain from drinking consecrated wine, or wish to simply receive a blessing, approach the clergy with arms crossed on your chest and you’ll be offered a quiet blessing.

We’d love to meet you!  Stop by the “Welcome Table” during coffee hour to meet a friendly face and get any of your questions answered, find out about upcoming ‘newcomer’ events and join our mailing list.
