Mr. Holland’s Opus spans 30 years in the life of Glenn Holland (Richard Dreyfuss), a talented composer in 1965 whose true passion is writing a great American symphony. In need of a steady paycheck to support his family, he takes a temporary position teaching music at a high school, a job he initially resents as a distraction from his real goal.
