At Christ Church Cranbrook, it is our holy privilege to accompany those whose loved ones have died. Our clergy offer pastoral care to those who mourn and meet with bereaved family and friends to plan the funeral or memorial service. Our organist and other musicians, as well as our flower guild and hospitality team, are committed to providing a meaningful and reverent service. Christ Church Cranbrook hosts services for those who have regularly attended worship here as well as others for whom this is a place of spiritual and religious significance. Our services are based upon the Burial Rites of the Book of Common Prayer. Within the structure of those rites, many options are offered, such as selections of Biblical readings and prayers. This allows the service to reflect the life of the person who has died as well as the memories of those who mourn. Please contact the Rev. Joyce Matthews for more information or to schedule a meeting. Download The Planning Booklet to see verse and hymn suggestions for funeral and memorial services.
