JILL BEDNAS
Class of 2027
General Introduction: I grew up in Michigan and was raised Roman Catholic, although my family attended mostly on Christmas and Easter. While dating, my now-husband Scott (who was raised at CCC) invited me to join him for a service. It was so refreshing to feel a warm welcome! I continued to attend, became a LEM, took classes, and was eventually confirmed as an adult at Christ Church. Scott and I were married at Christ Church Cranbrook in 2001, where we went on to raise two boys in Bloomfield Hills. When Scott’s career moved us to suburban Chicago, we worshiped at our neighborhood Episcopal church in Glen Ellyn, where I became very involved in teaching Sunday School and chairing the Parish Life Committee as well as serving on the board of St. Mark’s Preschool. I joined the staff as a Children’s Minister for four years before we moved back to Michigan. Upon our return, we resumed attending services at CC and not long after were invited to join CCC staff, where I worked from 2014 to 2021. The past two years have been a profound opportunity to tap into my creative side and delve deeper into my passion for Interior design, which after many prayers, allowed me the courage to start my own Interior Design business. Turning my passion into a fulfilling endeavor has been an incredible blessing, for which I give great thanks to God! CCC Participation: Vast and varied experience supporting the Episcopal church for eleven years as church staff Held various positions at CCC for seven years, spanning from youth ministry to membership engagement Held position as Executive Assistant to the Rector during time at CCC Managed multiple volunteer groups, executed large fundraisers, and organized numerous fellowship events during tenure CCC Mission: I was present for many of the visioning meetings which clarified the mission and direction of CCC. CCC is my church home, and I care deeply for the parish and hold great respect for the history of this building, and the founders who created this legacy for us to worship God. I feel I live out the four-fold vision in my personal and professional life! I meet Jesus in my daily prayer, find joy in every service I attend, and share in the beautification of this place with my extended church family. I have a passion for the garden committee and am very comfortable serving others.
