JAMES TRASK
Treasurer, Ex-Officio Member
Jim is a recent member of Christ Church Cranbrook and has been a member of Episcopal Churches in Southeast Michigan for nearly thirty years. Originally from the east coast, he has a B.S. Degree in Mathematics from Penn State and a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University. During a 27-year career at General Motors, Jim held executive positions in Economics, Benchmarking, Planning, and Finance. After early retirement from GM, Jim held Vice President and General Management positions at two EV-related startups. He retired (again) in 2014. His previous church positions include Vestry member, Senior Warden, and Finance Chair at both Nativity (Bloomfield Twp.) and St. Stephens (Troy), as well as Treasurer at St. Stephens. He has also served as a Trustee of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan, where he was a member of the Investment and Audit committees. Jim has been a volunteer Boy Scout Leader for nearly 20 years in various roles at the Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, District, and Council level. He is currently Vice President of District Operations for the Great Lakes Field Service Council, and a member of the Great Lakes and Michigan Crossroads Council Executive Boards. Jim is married to Frances Hammond, owner of the market research company “the research house llc”. Between them, they have six adult children and two grandchildren. They live in Bloomfield Township, and enjoy hiking and travel – especially to New Zealand.
