The Rev. Dr. William Danaher is Rector of Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he has served since 2014.
In addition to his work at Christ Church Cranbrook, Rev. Dr. William Danaher serves on the governance board of The Salisbury School. He also serves as a professor at Ecumenical Theological Seminary, where his primary responsibilities are in Homiletics, commonly known as preaching.
In 2016, he was named Pastor of the Year by the Metropolitan Christian Council of Detroit and Windsor. In 2014, he was named a Luce Fellow in Theology by the Association of Theological Schools. Earlier in his career, he was named a member of the Center of Theological Inquiry in Princeton, New Jersey. He also received the Bishop Hines Award for Preaching, a national award for sermons that connect the scriptures with current social justice issues.
Rev. Dr. William Danaher received his Ph.D. in Religious Ethics from Yale University, his M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia, and his A.B. in History from Brown University. Father Bill Danaher has published several essays and written many articles that explore the intersection of theology, ethics, and, most recently, the arts.
Previously, Father Bill was Dean of the Faculty of Theology and the Huron-Lawson Chair of Pastoral and Moral Theology at Huron University College in London, Ontario. He also served as Associate Professor in the John Henry Hobart Chair in Moral Theology at General Seminary in New York City, New York, and Associate Professor of Theology and Ethics at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.
