My Christian background and my Sacred Heart education instilled in me a real desire to give back, especially to those people and institutions that have had meaning in my life. Christ Church Cranbrook is one of those very important places in my life.
Although I already serve as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at the Saturday service, I heard through the grapevine that Christ Church was in need of some office help, and I volunteered this past spring.
I usually work one morning a week, answering the phone and preparing bulletins for the weekend services. Every so often, I will take on another project as the need arises.
The staff is delightful and I enjoy being the smiling face to visiting parishioners or the happy welcoming voice on the phone. It’s great to be in the know about the plethora of parish activities, while providing a bit of assistance to our busy staff members.
This is a no-brainer — no training necessary, except learning a few phone extensions. I’ve only disconnected someone once! Please consider joining this important and rewarding church ministry.
