Introducing Christ Church Cranbrook’s New Musician In Residence

We are excited to welcome Joe Balistreri, a nationally-respected organist, conductor, and liturgist, as Musician-in-Residence starting August 1. With his extensive knowledge of music from years of study at the University of Michigan and his ample experience as a music director, teacher, and community facilitator, Balistreri will be a great addition to the staff. Balistreri is expected to compose original music, conduct concerts, and much more at Christ Church Cranbrook.

“We were searching for a nationally-respected musician that we could lift up as we continued to look for ways to lead our church and community musically,” said The Rev. Dr. William Danaher. “After meeting with Joe it became clear to us that he was the perfect fit. Not only is Joe a remarkable musician, but he is a profound Christian that any church would be proud to have in a position of leadership.”

His acceptance of this position follows a decade-long tenure as Director of Music at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit and the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
