March 2026 Vestry Digest

The Vestry is composed of 15 elected members of the church and several members who serve in an ex-officio capacity as Treasurers, Chancellors, and Recording Secretary.  The Rector chairs the meetings, and the other clergy participate.

Here are highlights of the March 2026 Vestry meeting:

  • Successful Lenten and Youth Programming: The Prayer and Fare youth fundraiser reached its financial goal in just one week, ensuring all participating children are fully funded. Additionally, Vestry members reported high engagement and positive feedback regarding the evolving Lenten Groups, specifically noting the success of the Men’s Group.
  • Organizational Reorganization: Communication & Visibility Initiatives: After extensive discussion on improving transparency with the congregation, the Vestry approved the creation of a subcommittee to enhance Vestry visibility. They also endorsed a plan to publish a monthly Vestry digest in the Communicant blog.
  • Personnel & Leadership Changes: Nina Brown was approved as the new Director for Little Lambs. Following the upcoming departure of Gina Morgan as Director of Finance and Administration, the Vestry approved a reorganization of the Finance Department. This includes creating a new Accounting Clerk role and authorizing a search firm to find a new Director of Finance and Operations.
  • Candidates for Ordination: The Vestry was delighted to provide congregational endorsements for Chas Kipp to become a priest and Mel Carpenter to become a deacon.
  • Financial Status: The Treasurer reported a strong financial position and overall expenses are in line with the budget. While pledge payments are currently $70,000 behind the previous year’s pace, overall pledge commitments for 2026 are higher.
