Senior May: Closing Thoughts

By Milly Diefendorf

While working at Christ Church Cranbrook for my three-week-long internship alongside so many wonderful staff members and a helpful community, I noticed that Christ Church’s environment is similar yet different from other places I have helped make a difference in. During my Senior year at Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School, the residential community offers a program to become a Residential Student Leader and become a part of the Residential Student Council. We help ensure the dorms are a safe environment where everyone feels welcome and supported, and we also make sure the dorms are decorated and lively with our annual theme. Christ Church has also built on that previous experience by helping with food preparation and ensuring everyone’s needs are met. The decorations I make for Vacation Bible School closely resemble the handmade decorations I made at the beginning of the year. The community at Christ Church is similar to Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School. At school, we have a bunch of lovely adults who are always here to support us academically, emotionally, and mentally. They have always been there to give advice or to listen. Similarly, the Church works just as hard to make sure everyone is supported equally. From Ms. Tiffany, who works hard to guarantee all hospitality requirements, such as food allergies, plating, and cleanup, are in place, to Ms. Kellie, who is always there to support any child in need. From all of the places I have helped to impact. Christ Church is truly one of the most special and important places I have ever been a part of.
